Profile
Dr. Alexander Englert researches the philosophy of Immanuel Kant and the German Idealist tradition, as well as consciousness and philosophy of religion broadly construed. The "broadly construed" presently refers to Buddhist philosophy and the religious thought of Kurt Gödel.
Before beginning at the University of Richmond, Dr. Englert was Research Associate at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey (link), as well as a Postdoctoral Research Associate and Lecturer in Philosophy at Princeton University (link). In 2020, he earned his Ph.D. in philosophy from the Johns Hopkins University.
